FFS why did they have to get rid of it, the new site they have now does not have as many search options, gone are the type of work from a tick box, and what hours you would like to do, now you have to go through every job ad to look at the hours and wage.

What do you expect from a government website?
compare to every government controlled system and see the similarities.

P.s. Good luck with finding a job, i know the pain of searching to no avail.

You can do all of those things still

Click Search for a Job under DirectGov, then click Jobs under advanced search.

+1 free stab at Labour fail

I was just on the website last night!

Last time i was on it you had the options of the 'direct.gov' one or the jobcenter one... and now its only the direct one.

Its rubbish!

The directgov website is a joke... you can't even search jobs in my area because it says my town doesn't exist - even after selecting it from the list =/

It took me along time to get used to the new site but
its not as bad as you think.
you can still get the tick box's to narrow down your search.
for example if you was to see in the listings "retail" you should notice at the bottom of retail it says " other retail and sales jobs".
if you click that, it then gives you the tick box's to narrow your search down, such as "sales" or "shop worker" ect.
you can also narrow down your working criteria such as hours prefered and temp or perm ect.
dont get me wrong i dont think its a great site, its just not as bad as you think.
