Most prejudice area in Britian?

Dose no one else see the irony in this thread?

I think it's great for that very reason.

I'm not sure you can identify what would be the most prejudiced area in Britain, if you're just relying on peoples perceptions then it could be anywhere they don't like, if you're attempting to use something like membership of certain groups as indicative then you won't necessarily take account of how small a percentage of the overall in that area they are. You'd also have to define what is meant by prejudice here - is it racial, is it gender, sexual, religious, something else entirely or a combination of all of them?

Speaking of Cheltenham, I was there in 2003 when there were protests at RAF Fairford and police were called to assist Gloucester Police. I was there a week for mutual aid.

On the last night we hired a mini bus and went into Cheltenham and I must say that a Geordie accent there was about as welcome as a morris dancer at a drum 'n bass club.

Only one lady was welcoming and she was a 42 year old minted minx.

There, I end my tale.

I live in a BNP area.

Cliviger, which is a village outside Burnley in the North West, I believe the BNP have won a few times.

To be fair it is quite nice. :D (not because of lack of non white people)

Some where grim and up north.

There are no cats in London and the streets are paved with cheese.

How are you defining prejudice? Until it's clear what the criteria are, it's very difficult to judge.

Benni, im from Dudley aswell, and saw the EDL yesterday, I say White skinhead thugs fight with Asian gangsta Thugs.

Ive lived here all my life, and we dont really have any problems, the proposed Mosque is a contentious issue. Surprising the muslims that its meant to be catering for, arent too bothered, it essentially turned into one man taking it upon himself to push the Mosque plans through, in reality, some dodgy business has gone on between said 'bloke' and certain councillers, so it turned into a personal battle. The EDL seem to be turning this into a Mosque automatically equals violent islam.

I remember being in the north just after the riots in 2001, and honestly, as an Asian, I had no problem with the locals at all, I still regularly see people from the northern BNP heartlands, and I think the racism/prejudice in those areas is greatly exaggerated.

Northern Ireland

I'd run with this also. We hate each othersuch that when outsiders arrive they are greeted with suspicions, ****bombs, broken windows, and racial abuse almost immediately.

Our older generation is particularly backwards, many would still use non-PC terms and have no concept of PC behaviour, many without knowing the terms would cause offence. Granted, lost of them are dying off.

As with everywhere it depends on where you go, but if you take the population as a whole, they would not rate themselves as raciast, whilst being racists and many would quite happily label the 'other side' as racist.

We had one period where 2 rival communities started flying palestine and israeli flags, not as they supported either side, but just to show each other how they couldn't agree on anything. Marvellous people.

Saw this myself when I was driving to Oldbury town centre. Groups of people who simply wanted to fight, didnt give a monkeys about the protest.

I'd disagree with this. On the whole I'd say those are only very small minorities and aren't representitive of the people in NI at all. For the most part people tend to get on well with one another regardless of race or religion. I agree that our older generation can be somewhat ignorant particularly when it comes to other races but I'd imagine there are worse places in the UK.

What the? How did I miss this? I didn't even know this was going on yesterday...
