Asus rampage III Extreme

Just one inch right?

Would be such a shame if i bought it and it couldnt fit in :>
Yes, it's 305mm x 269mm compared to 305mm x 244mm (standard ATX). 25mm = ~1 inch.

Most mid tower cases will fit the R3E with no issues. Take the PC-7FNWfor example which is a mid tower Lian Li case (similar to Helios1234's Lian Li test case which housed the R3E). There's about ~20mm to spare. Most manufacturers list the available space on their website so it might be worth double-checking before purchase.

Open your case and check with a measuring tape, simple :).

Mine has a 275mm width for the motherboard.

I don`t have the case at the moment but I will do one's buying all the hardware components for my complete new build.

I checked the coolermaster website for size information but below is all the size info they got for this case.

Dimension (W / H / D)

(W) 266 x (H) 598 x (D) 628 mm
(W) 10.47 x (H) 23.54 x (D) 24.72 inch

I tried a google image search for that case, and cant find a single high res birds eye picture of its interior.

Everywhere only has angled shots of the case, so I cant even see where the stanoff screw are.

How does this compare to the Asus P6T7 WS INTEL X58 MOBO?

The two boards serve different purposes really. The RP3 is focussed more on overclocking and gaming performance. The P6T7 WS is more about stability and pure power where you would want to fill it full of graphics cards for processing etc.

I went and ordered a pair of Prolimatech MK-13s since there were only a few in stock.

I can only install one on my second card right now, and will do that first to make sure they fit, then can put them both on once I get this board.

only 1 internal usb2 headder??
My case along with lots of others have 4 usb ports externally on the case i/o panel :(
Gonna have to route the other 2 jacks outside of the case or just omit them :(

just checked the dimentsions to my antec 1200 case, and it will fit but there are no extra screws for it, it would be a little cramped and also it covers 2 of the holes for cable managment. May unfortunatly have to sell the case and buy another :< shame..

whats the best way to sell PC components second hand? Ebay?

I only have a minor issue in that a Prolimatech Megahalems (with two fans) CPU cooler will cover the first DIMM slot and the fan clip will probably interfere with Corsair Dominator GT memory cooling fins in the second DIMM slot.

My hand has been hovering over the buy button for two days. ;)

You can overcome that issue by removing the upper part of the heatsink in the offending module(s), like this:

I doubt the RAM's cooling abilities will be affected much at all, especially if the case is well cooled to begin with. Go on, you know you want to... :D
