Hey,

I'm considering buying the BenQ G2420HDBL monitor however I've still got an original white 360 and so I have no HDMI output. What's the best way to go about outputting from the 360 (component) to the monitor (DVI-D)?

Thanks :cool::)

1x Official Xbox 360 VGA Cable
1x VGA -> DVI-D convertor

or

1x Component -> DVI-D convertor

Thanks, just realised that the "analogue" input was VGA! Will it give the same 1080p quality as DVI-D input?

And I considered using convertors however as VGA/Component is analogue and DVI-D is digital I assumed that it wouldn't work :p

Near enough, DVI has the advantage of being capable of providing better image quality, but I doubt you'd notice it unless the VGA cable was shocking (and in the official VGA cables case - it's not). Though if it's a comparison of plugging the 360 VGA lead straight into a VGA slot compared to VGA lead with a DVI adapator plugged into a DVI slot there wouldn't be any difference.

Nah they work, and are available, but are pretty poor and I wouldn't really recommend it.

Awesome, thanks very much for the input (terrible pun I know! :p)
So you'd recommend I go for the official version? There's a lot of cheaper ones on eBay but I dunno if I would trust them :)

Oh and does anyone have the BenQ G2420HDBL and uses it with their 360? If so, what's the quality like ?

Thanks :D

Aye, definitely. I myself bought one of the cheapy ones, definitely not a good idea had a lot of ghosting the quality overall was pretty naff. Would just go with the official one, high quality cable and it provides a superb picture.

Will do, what monitor do you use yours with and does it look goood? (If you do of course!) The Benq is out of stock until Wednesday, hopefully, so it'll be Thursday at the earliest that I'll get it :(

Ah well :)

VGA to DVI-D convertor? is there such a thing? how much do the cost
Hmm, you're right, they are quite uncommon and expensive but they do exist. I must have been looking at a DVI-I convertor by accident (sorry OP!). Thankfully the BenQ G2420HDBL does have a VGA port.
