i would be a little bit concerned with removing the heat spreadder's fins? is that the only option?
cant you mount the h/s horizontally?

Aslong as ur staticless, then there is no problem Ram realy doesnt need cooling at all (Ram cooling fans are a total marketing gimic)

Aslong as you have a reletivly cool case, which i am sure all overclockers do then you wont have any problems with ram temps.

yea cheers, i know that ram doesnt really need the cooling that sometimes it is given but id still be a little concerned by removing the fins. they have certainly shifted the cpu >> more on this board than others... or is it my eyes ;)

what do you mean the fins have shifted the cpu?? im confused XD
 
meh i suppose its as close to perfect as you can get, i still think the bluetooth rog connect feature is a gimmick. unless you wanna turn ur pc on when you are in the bath ;)

It's really not :p for the reason stated in your post!

But seriously it is useful. On the Maximus III Extreme (the P55 version), I turned off LLC and would never had known that the voltage was spiking to 1.6v were it not for being able to monitor voltages using my phone.

It's quite handy when I watch iplayer at night while tucked away in bed :D.
 
Helios, two questions:

Do all the fans bar the PWR one have Q-Fan control in the bios?

Can you manage the link width of any of the PCIe x 16 slots in the bios?

Im upgrading to this but can you recommend what soundcard might be worth getting with this as currently running Auzren X-Fi Prelude 7.1 but do to where my dual 5870's are going to have to go im gonna have to get a pci express card.
 
Could some one tell me the distance between the PCIE slots? i have 2 5870's and m looking for a soundcard so i need to know!
