I bought one of these mice a couple of years ago and am still loving it, and i want to get one for my other computer, is it still the best value-for-money mouse out there? or has it been dethroned in the mean time?

opinions?

cheers

Nothing can touch it at the price, I upgraded to the G500 in January and it is the best mouse I've used to date.

The MX518 is a brilliant mouse with a price to match :)

Really? I got one not long ago, but put it back int it's box after not very long. Just couldn't get on with it. Also didn't like another favourite, the Imtellimouse Explorer 3.

Saw a cheap A4 Tech "gaming" laser mouse in Claas somethign or other store yesterday, and at £13, I figured I'd give it a go, expecting to bin it, but turns out it it's fantastic :D

Replaced my old trusted 510 with a 518. Pretty much exactly the same mouse with added sensitivity. You don't change a winning team! My 510 still works like a champ after 4 years, I use it at work now. No thrills, solid mouse for big hands.

Same, replaced my 510 after 4 years also. I tried a MS intellimouse (or whatever you call it - the one they re-released) didn't get on with it - but it went to a very happy Counterstrike buddy. Then went for the 518 when it was on offer through OC's. Yup, very pleased - can't see me using anything else tbh :)

I choose the IntelliMouse 3.0 over this, I haven't really compared the specs, but for the size difference this is much more suited for a larger hand, I have used a 518 a couple times and find it slightly more cramped over this, I've never felt that this mouse has let me down in any way since using it.
