Depends where you want to go, for how long and what you want from your stay.
If it was me, looking at Travelzoo, I would go for a 14 day all inclusive £1300 pp in the Maldives. It's probably not gonna be the most luxurious accommodation but should still be awesome

Probably get you a hotel room in Slough for about 6 months with that. And lets face it, you're not leaving the room so....

Depending on what month you want to go, make sure its not the hight of the monsoon season. Dont wanna get wet every day lol.

Bali is lovely, somewhere lovely like Nusa Dua/Sarnur, or somewhere up in the hills around ubud would be most appropraite.
We stayed in the Ubud Hanging Gardens for a while and found it most romantic. It isn't cheap but it nice for a day or two.

Main issue at the moment is the insanely poor pound, Last 3 years I've watched myself get 20000rups to the pound, then 18000, and now you'd be lucky to push 13000.

So factor that into any destination.

Fly to the states and have a driving honeymoon down the west coast for a week and a half. We did that and it cost us less than £3 grand, it was the bit where we left there and went to Vancouver/Vancouver Island for a fortnight that got costly ! Best holiday ever!

Yes, a great place to go. I have booked Paradisus Rio de Oro for just over £3k in September.

I think it depends on what you want to do (other than that!) and how long you want to go for.

I know someone who just paid for his honeymoon in kavos. Not really what I would suggest though.

With 3k you could choose from a nice quiet greek island for 3 weeks or the Maldives for 1 week.

It all depends what sort of things you like. Perhaps a bit more info will help with some suggestions.

I did 18 nights in the US for that (2008). LA, Highway 1, San Fran, Flight to Phoenix, Sedona / Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, flight to NY, NY then home, including car hire. £1500 a head goes a fair way.

Why go all that way then go all inclusive? Surely the whole point in going half way around the world is to experience other cultures etc?

You do all of that on day trips out, then come back to a feast of free food and drink
