The official I kinda suck at BFBC2 but play for the lolz thread

I think its because I used to play BF2 a lot and thats a harder game than this though the style is the same.

I personally think BF2 is much easier than this, i can get gold medals all day long without even trying.
I find in bc2 you have to think more what your doing or camp and thats not really my style.

I found BF2 much easier as well, rifles were capable of killing people.

On that subject why does it feel like rifles are the weakest guns in the game, the amount of times I'm one on one with someone, shoot first and die to a pistol/shotty/knife. if I'm rifle v rifle and shoot first I usually win.

When did the knife become the ultimate weapon? In this and mw2 you can put 10 rounds of 7.62 in someone and they live but if you get one little stab wound you're dead. I really dont get it, you're running around with your primary weapon in your hands and run into the enemy and its quicker for you to sling your weapon, reach for your knife, pull it out and ram it into an unprotected location than it is to just fire your weapon.

its just a mechanic of FPS's u have to live with tbh.

just get better at shooting so people never get to close =P

Agree with the knife thing, and also the fact you seem to be able to get shot from the other side of the map by machine guns but sniping someone that far away is impossible

It's not always been an FPS mechanic though, CS doesn't do it, BF2 doesn't either or a whole other range of FPS's. Its like having a "push to kill" button that ignores having to do what you expect of a reaction/aim based fps like aim. I could live with it if it took longer but magically a person running along with a large sniper rifle in his hand can instantly stow the weapon, locate and draw his knife and bang it into somewhere critical (always fatal), all done faster than 30rnds of 5.56 can be emptied into you (thats about 4 secs for a SA80)

Bit of a rant I suppose, its a big break with realism (I know gameplay>realism) using your bayonet is the very last resort but in this game its a primary weapon of choice.

The knifing is silly in BC2. More than a few times someone has run at me and and stabbed me after being shot point blank in the chest with a pistol. If we have to have a canned, lock on uber stab, perhaps prevent it from activating for an amount of time after being shot?

Given that even on the best servers there's a ping of over 100 and that stabbing is clunky at best, i'd rather something that rewarded skill rather than luck (it reminds me of the Gears of War chainsaw lottery)

What is with the mouse wheel behaviour? I just rolled through medpack/defib/medpack/defib/medpack/defib/shotgun, does it just do what it likes. Wasn't an issue in BF2.

Frustrated at times, but still really like the game.

I think it rotates through items backwards when you're running. TBH I don't know if that's a bug or intentional.

Welcome to the modern world where consoles are king and everything gets based off them :(

I agree with that. Luckily this game doesnt suffer consolitis as much as other big named titles do. The "best" example of it is the new AVP game where the predators attacks all auto aim and holding E to kill people with the alien and predator lol.

I can understand why you need such things on the console due to it being next to impossible to accurately aim on any pad since the N64 one quickly and accurately but putting that onto the PC with no way of disabling it is poor.

I disagree I found BF2 to be less forgiving the Hit's you take tend to register more, you've less scoped weopons plus the maps are a lot bigger.

though thats just my humble opinion.;)

Yes, i suck at this game, but its a great laugh to play. Hit registration is terible in bfbc2, seen me shooting someone at point blank range with a ful magazine, no kill, then someone shoots and kills you from 100 feet away with a shotgun, not very realistic. I own several shotguns myself, i can only dream of that sort of killing power.:D

Lol yeah the slugs are disturbingly accurate at range, especially with the NS2000. They also dont suffer from bullet droop so its basically like using a railgun on quake 3 atm!

I think james, im still too used to cod mw2, i tend to rush in to much when playing bfbc2. But i still love playing it, ive stopped playing mw2, it got boring after a few days, ill definitely stick with it, hopefully geting a 5870 gpu soon, should see an improvement over my current gtx 275, rest of my rig is an i7 920 at 4ghz with 6gb of c7 ocz reaper 1600mhz ram, the gtx doesnt really cut the mustard theese days at 1920x1200.

That's nothing, mines 0.4! :p

I like to think that it's down to my squad play. More likely it's because I'm crap though.
