Max of £3k to spend

I recently picked up a 2001 Leon Cupra for £2800, 60k on the clock, unmolested and the only problem i found since was the doors were leaking which cost £8 to fix and a couple of hours of my time....have since remapped it and was worth every penny....

Fuel wise im averaging around 30mpg over 3 tanks of vpower on a commute across dartmoor so pretty pleased with that....

Insurance wise im 24 and paying £550 fully comp to insure it

Clearly the first owner of my car was poor, spending only £25,000.

£7000 more than a Cupra R?

First owner of your car got properly ripped off, 25 grand for a Leon with a 1.9 diesel! And that was at a time when EU car prices were far lower than UK prices and you could get an EU import 330d SE for £25k..

Seat = poor mans VW

Lol, ok.

Alternatively, its for the people who don't want to load an extra 10-25% onto the purchase price for a badge that people for some reason equate with prestige, even though it isn't a prestige brand.

No VW came close to the all round package of my Leon Cupra R when I bought it back in 2005.

List price for a fully loaded Seat Leon Cupra 4 was pushing €30,000.
That was OTR, including taxes.

10 years ago, cars were cheaper outside the UK before tax remember.
That EU import 330d would have been another £10k OTR in the country of export.

I am getting pretty bored of people who dont live in the UK quoting prices that mean nothing to us in debates on this UK forum.
