Logitech Offered me 50% off next mouse, but which shall I choose?

As above really, one of my trusty MX1000's died and its out of warranty so they have offered by 50% off another from there website?

Thinking about the new MX Revolution (Darkfield laser)?

Opinions??

I use a Logitech Anywhere MX as my wireless mouse and it's really comfortable to use, not sure how it would be suited to gaming though.

The MX Revolution is probably a good bet though, since you can recharge the batteries.

These were the two I was offered as replacements for my dead G7, shame they don't make them in the UK anymore :(
 
I'm not really a fan of wireless mice, espiecally for gaming. Sucks when they run out of battery in the middle of a fight plus I think they have higher response times to wired ones.

Yeah, that's what I use.

Simply the best mouse I've ever used and I've used a fair few! (MS Intellimouse 2, Razer Deathadder, G5, G7)

Fits my hand perfectly and it's much smoother than any of the above to use in my opinion.

Well I would get that mouse myself as well but the Razor Mamba has caught my eye :) But with 50% off the G9x then I would fly for it but I am not him :(
 
G9x?

Never looked at that before, is it a cord mouse? Looks it from what's I've seen, need to look at some reviews I think
 
Yep, it's a corded mouse.

The only wireless mice which are good enough for gaming would be the Anywhere MX or MX Revolution as mentioned (From Logitech UK anyway) since they no longer manufacture the G7 here, which is the best wireless mouse for gaming that Logitech did (do - if in the US).
 
Hmmm toss up between the new revolution and the G9x ........

Never really had an issue gaming with wireless and can't get on with cables :(

Need to read some more reviews I think, thanks guys
 
I use the G9 too, it's amazing. Though 7yrs ago I'd never have said anything good about Logitech, their hardware build quality & software was diabolical. Things have changed of course since then - now I'm the proud, content owner of the lovely, super duper G9. :) Plays games very smoothly indeed on my custom made kick-a55 mouse mat. :D

Yep I have the G9 also, very good mouse. I have always had Logitech mice and keyboards so the G9 and my G11 keyboard work a treat for gaming.
Mine is the G9, not the G9x.
 
I dont suggest the MX revolution for gaming:
Doesnt feel 'smooth' in games
Gets uncomfortable
Becomes grimey after extended use more so than my g5
The mouse wheel doesnt feel right.
The side buttons can get knocked accidently, same with the search button.
I have a cheap/old optical mouse that is better for gaming than the revolution.

I thought that the MX revolution was a really substandard replacement for my G7 at the time.

I would althought get a gaming series mouse i really like my G5 comfortable for most uses. All the things i didnt mention in above. :D
 
Off topic a bit but the Microsoft sidewinder is very good :) not used a logitech mouse since my old wireless one broke about 4 years ago, loved that one a lot though.

I disagree with everything you have said there. I've used it for several years and it has never let me down

I too disagree with all that, certainly the complete opposite of my experience, having owned the Bluetooth version for a few years now.

Wireless is - and has for a long time - been perfectly fine for gaming. It is however a case of being willing to spend a bit more on the good wireless sets, cheaper ones aren't necessarily going to perform as well. I've owned both the MX3100 and MX5500 sets and they're very responsive.
