Damn! Can't believe I've missed the first two parts of this. Sky have done a really good job of advertising the fact that they're showing it, but a poor job of advertising when.

Very true, same with stargate universe & BSG. Most times I missed the first episodes and had to look elsewhere to catch up.

Watched the first two episodes and tbh I'm a little confused. There seemed to be a limited back story (WRT the characters) and at the moment far from making you connect with the characters it's just a case of a load of similar looking americans shooting at a load of Japanese with the occasional American death. So far it isn't in the same league as either Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers.

The filming just seems to flit between a load of fight sequences.

I almost gave up on it at 4, it's really not up there with band of brothers.

5 was the first one that I actually watched without browsing the web.
