Battery life on MBP with Win7

Evening chaps,

Got me a MBP and noticed the battery life is considerably poorer whilst running Windows7, anything I can do about this? I'm getting around 3 hours atm and was hoping for 5 or so.

im having a guess here, but would Win7 use the more powerful gfx card inside your MBP? instead of automatically using the lower powered one

What are the power options set to at the moment in Windows 7? Maybe they can be tweaked a little to get a bit more out of the battery.

Im probably in the wrong forum here sorry about that. I've done some digging and can't find anything except maybe I need to adjust the fan speed. I would have thought this would have been discussed before.

Well I'm running it in "power saver" mode

I'd try adjusting the screen brightness, and maybe turn the transparency effects off. I can't see it improving life by two hours though.

Bootcamp will only run with the 9600 card assuming you have both the 9400 & 9600 model. That'll be your issue - it's exactly the same on mine too.

Ah I have the MBP base model with the 9400M. Looks like there's nothing I can do.
