It's gotta be said, for me that, 'lip', (that was on the MX1000), on the thumbside was REALLY helpful. It allowed me to control the mouse with the palm of my hand and the thumb, (of course), but BECAUSE of that lip and the subsequent thumb control, I was able to move the mouse in softer, more subtle ways than if I only had the use of the palm of my hand. I loved my MX1000 I had before, and it was awesome. To be honest, how I'm getting by with the G9 I'll never know, but I am, and I'm actually ENJOYING it; bizarre. I MAY get the, lipped', Logitech Performance MX Mouse some day if I ever get fed up with the G9, but until then I'm sticking with it. Now if only they made a G9 with a nice big fat lip like that on the MX1000.![]()
The thing with mice is that you need to hold them before you buy so you get an idea what it mght feel like as you're using it, problem is, 99% of the time you can't do that, (unless they have the tethered replica mice on show for you to get a grasp of in the pc hardware showroom). My advice would be to look back at mice you have used in the past and then to decide if the features of the potential new mouse are going to be more of a benefit to you or a handicap.
Always weigh up the pros n cons before making a decision.

How did you get them to give you that when the warranty's expired?
g500, but you dont like wired, so get them to ship you a g7 from the us...special like.
Where did you buy it from, bocsta? If its online, surely you can return it within 7 days under distance selling regulations?
One thumb button opposed to 3 on the MX Revolution......
3 suits me more for gaming etc
