If you work for the DVLA, can I give you a bloody good kick in the nuts?
If you know somebody else that works there, can you give them a kick in the nuts for me?

I've been waiting for me license to come back with my provisional C entitlement to come back for FIVE WEEKS now.
FIVE WEEKS!

Its supposed to take 3, I have a start date for a new job that is the first week of may, I sent the paper work off in plenty of time for theory tests and even retakes of the practical should I fail and these asshats have wasted 5 weeks of my training time doing NOTHING with it.
I've rang up 4 times in the past two weeks asking where it is (its been in their medical department almost this whole time) and each time I've been assured It will be processed and on its way to me in "the next couple of days".
As it stands If It gets issued by friday, I'll have enough time for one shot at each test before the job deadline, I somehow doubt they are going to get it sorted.

These days I take a scan of every piece of paperwork I send to the DVLA. Not just logbooks and licenses but any forms, letters or other paperwork I send to them.

They **** up so often these days it seems that you really do need the proof of what you sent.

Everything goes recorded delivery too and the reciepts for that get scanned too.

Oh I've got proof of everything sent, dates received and all that, they just dont seem to give a ****.

The proof isn't to hassle the DVLA with, it's for when you end up in trouble with the police for failing to hand in a producer on time because the DVLA have had your licence for 5 weeks, or when your boss is giving you hassle because they need to check you're still entitled to drive company cars. etc. etc.

Great news! apparently my license will be sent to me no later than 2pm today.
Which means I should be able to squeeze at least one retest in on either the theory or the practical before the deadline.
Its not great news, it should have been here two weeks ago, its just, "news".
