Thanks to the power of Netflix, I've been catching up on a great show I never knew existed. I'm partway through Season 4 now, and I must say it just gets better and better.

The storyline is good enough, but I think they're doing a great job with character development. Unlike "Lost", where the only characters that ever really learned and grew were Locke and Jin (save that debate for a different thread, please. :D), this show hits on every one of them.

To me, it seems like an R-rated version of Desperate Housewives, which has plenty of silliness as well as very serious situations.

Since I don't know how far this show has gone in the UK, I won't post any details about episodes. But please feel free to discuss what has been aired already.

4 out of 5 stars from me.
 
YES!! I love it. Very funny show. Andy is probably my favourite character. Whenever him and Doug team up it's absolutely brilliant. :p

Nancy's not too hard on the eyes either. ;)
 
I stopped watching somewhere in Season 4, I can't remember why. Mary Louise Parker is the very definition of milf:

@Zero5 - agreed. Andy and Doug are a trip. Andy actually reminds me of myself -- aside from the drug usage, of course. :)

I used to have a thing for Elizabeth Perkins until the episode she got nekkid. Yes, I know it was only makeup, but ewwww! :eek:
 
Got this on my to watch list, but then I also have the following on that list :o

Entourage season 2 onwards
The Wire season 2 onwards
The West Wing
 
The first 3 seasons are top notch, but the last two have been pretty meh. Its not about slinging weed enough anymore, the end of Series 2 is one of the best cliffhanger endings ever though.

Gustov, get on Breaking Bad! Its absolutely incredible.
 
I wish they'd actually show them properly in the UK, so I didn't have to import the R1 DVDs! FYI, only seasons 1-3 have actually aired in the UK, so avoid talking about the other ones ;)

[Edit] There's 6 seasons and us poor Uk folk have only had three! We need a channel to pull their finger out a bit!

Well, five seasons have been broadcast. Season six comes this "fall".

Great show and Mary is so nom-nom. I agree with the character development, the change across the show is fantastic. Season 1 and 2 were easily way better than Season five though.

I love how irreverent the show is.

Watched a few more eps of Season 4 today. Without getting into details, Silas is starting to grow [sic] on me now, and Shane... :eek:
 
The development of Shanes character is impressive.

Just remembered, my favourite episodes are the ones with Zooey Deschanel, her, plus Mary equals my idea of heaven :)
 
It was good in season 1, each other season has been downhill since. Its moved from a mother dealing into just a mess. Would have been so much better if she kept the kids from knowing.

Oh and the sexy scenes with her, yeah very nice. :)

He's a helluva character alright. Always seems to know the right things to say to anyone to get his way. Doesn't seem to have a pessimistic outlook at all. No concerns, no worries, and people adore him. Awesome character. Kevin Nealon has done right there.

Doug's hilarious. He faded into the background in Season 4, does he make a comeback later on?

My favourite Doug scene is where him and Dean are in Nancy's bathroom cleaning out the medicine cabinet and they decide to bet their entire cut of the crop on who has the biggest penis. They're standing there naked, comparing size, when Doug says "I think we did too many drugs" :D
