Can't be a BMW or Landrover, needs to fit three non ISOFIX seats in a row with enough boot space for buggies. Only does 6-7k a year so doesn’t need to be a diesel but can't be a V8.
Less than 3 years old/new with some warranty available to be renewed.

Go!

VW Transporter Sportline?
Volvo XC90?
E60 BMW M5?
2 Ford Transits?
A bus?

How about some more details and not such a vague post. Does the person care about performance? Does he want something luxurious or a dual purpose fun/family car? Does he want an estate? Or a saloon? Or what?

And why has he asked you to ask a computer forum what car he needs next? :p

And there was me thinking I was being clever by picking a V10 not a V8. Point stands though, if you want good information out, you need to put good information in.

Sisters got a Ford Galaxy which she likes for ferrying the 3 kids about. Not had many problems with it over the 3 years she has had it, does go ok for it's size and for a school barge but she has got the older V6 version, not sure what the newer ones are like.

I told him this, but his wife would prefer a 4x4 as it's a nice feeling. I can see where she's coming from but XC90/Disco 3 running costs compared to a Galaxy/S-Max are miles apart.

Is the Merc ML still terrible?

A work collegue has just bought a Ford S-Max for exactly this, seems pretty happy with it. 2.0 (i think) diesel, £19,000 in Titanium trim level. He had looked at a few cars before hand but went for this as it seems "less people carrier like" than other cars he tested.

Edit - NM, just seen they prefer a 4x4
