I was just playing with case and relised that despite having it for a week or 2 that i havent really tried the LED fans, so i pressed the buttons and my god they are crap! you can barely see the Red LED. You have to be right in front of it ti actually see that there are LED fans in the front and Rear so this is too anyone that owns the Scout, Have you replaced your front and rear LED fans if so what did you go with?

was looking at a nice pair of cathode Blue LED sticks and just wondering if they would fit and what they would look like, i mean the LED that come with the fans are just crap barely can be seen - is there a way to get a better front section thing for it? i mean the whole of the front comes off i could i replace this with something a bit better at the moment it looks kinda ugly are there any case front ends that would fit on this remembering that it has a fan near the bottom as i dont like the effect that this one has the rest of the case is good. So thinking about replacing the 2 led fans - though i think that might be a right pain in the a** but still could be worth it but then not too keen on the effect that the front of the case has so is it possible to change that out for a different one from many a different case?

I changed my fans for 120mm and 140mm Yate Loon led fans. I even stuck an extra 120mm in the front to improve the already good cooling. I am fed up with the brightness of the led fans now though and will be swapping the 120's for the new Arctic Cooling F12's.

the 140mm is the top one right?
how did you manage to get them out, i mean the 2 out take ones are bunched together with the other wires - was it at all hard getting the fans out?

got a link to the fans you got?
Any idea how i would connect the fans and the 2 side fans to the button that turns the LED on and off? would it be possible to connect cathcode light bars to it so that the lights come on when i press the button?

Top and front are both 140mm. They came out easily because there is a clip in the wires joining them together. To work the replacement fan's off the button you would have to do some rewiring. I have mine on a fan controller anyway so that was'nt a option for me. I have the 140's running at 600rpm and the 120's at 660rpm and the case is now more or less silent.

The 140's are Yate Loon D14SL-12+4LED Red and the 120's are Yate Loon D12SL-12+4LED Red.

what kind of temps are you getting?
i am guessing that mine are going at max and without even maxing out the CPU cores i can still get temps over 47c+ which is kinda worrying me

47 degrees is nothing to worry about. A lot of people with i7's have temps in the 80's which is when i would be worrying. What cooler do you use?

My temps are as follows.

CPU is a E8500 at stock and idles in the mid 20's and hit's 38 degrees under prime. Cooler is a Zalman full copper CNPS 9500.

GPU is a 3850Pro with a Antec Vortexx Neo running at 5v. Idle temps are 31 degrees and load (fur stability test) are 58 degrees.

System temps are mid to high 20's.

It is rather cool in my computer room though which accounts for the cooler temps.

okay thanks for the info - i got the Artic Cooler 7 as my CPU cooler
maybe an upgrade to a better cooler will keep the temps down further?

really 47c seems to be kinda hot, maybe it is just me being my first build i am worried about EVERTHING

some flashy led fans do perform well its just whats your personal choice and theres a group of cm scout owners club on the net which have done some amazing things with there cases and got all kinds of fans in there cases

i guess that should have been easier for me to figure out :)
thanks i will give this a look in when i get back tomorrow night
busy everyday from 8am til gone 5pm for 4months :(

Here is the link to the CM Scout club. There are some really nice builds in there. I like the psu cover mod and might do that one myself along with fitting a plain smoked perspex window.

I have this case, and yes i have kept the stock fans, i get great temps with them anyway, so if it aint broke dont fix it.

The case has bags of space for big GFX cards too

yeah i found the thread my self, but thanks for posting it they have some AMAZING looking cases in there *jealous*

Some of the mods look cool, the one about getting more space inside by removed the hard drive sections, sounds interesting as my 5850 only just fits with barely any room but cant figure out what they did with the hard drives - maybe move it into the 5inch drive bays? if you have any info on how they did that or maybe the link to the guide i would be thankful i tried to find it but couldnt.

what GPU do you have? my 5850 just about fits, i dont dare try and fit a second at the moment :(
