Goon winds up the situation:

Na i dont think you can ;)

I can see it now:

They're shooting and suddenly spot each other, throw down there guns and run towards each other with there knives. Though the only way i can see it playing out is they both trip over a rock and stab themselves in the face or a Gustav rocket lands in the middle of them just as they close in.

Havent got as far as setting my account up to rank 1 yet, cant get on there to register so not unlocked it yet.

oic, didnt read it properly :)

I'm also using 555's, albeit with onboard sound. Iv'e tried all sound settings, i.e war tapes, headphones but none of them sound 'right' to me. The best way I can describe it is it sounds like im playing with my headphones round my neck instead of over my ears. Very distant sounding, and the cinematics are annoying. I dont need to be hearing the jets overhead that do **** all, or the hurricane winds.

Hahah yeah do a video of them seeing each other in the distance... then the movie slows down and they run toward each other with knife out with some heroic music playing.... then when they close to each other it speeds up with some benny hill music playing..... EPIC YOUTUBE HIT RIGHT THERE!!!

LETS MAKE IT!

Does anyone else and up going face to face with someone, letting rip and both killing each other at pretty much the same time, it's happened quite a few times to the point that I've noticed it.

Given the terrible knife hit reg thats probably how it would happen :p

How do you control the chopper and the UAV? I keep going ruddy backwards¬!

Copter:

W: Go up
S: Go down
A: Turn Left
D: Turn Right

Mouse Up: Nose Down (depending on settings obviously!!)
Mouse Down: Nose Up
Mouse Left: Roll Left
Mouse Right: Roll Right

Now to move forward you have to press and hold W to get some height then tip the nose down a bit and you will go forward. You can even let go of W and you will not fall back down, well unless you tip the nose down too much then you will just nose dive into epic fail.

To "brake" you DON'T hold S!!! You move the nose up just a tad and you will slow down. Once you have the copter only hovering you can then press S to lower it back to the ground for a "controlled" landing.

Go on some empty servers with the copters and practice, it makes perfect :D

Why do they OcUK servers keep going down?

Also, what are the right audio settings for using 5.1 hardware sound? The whole 'Hifi', 'cinema' etc. options are less than helpful

That has happened to me a lot, but only once has it occured when we both killed each other with the Knife. :D

r and f to go up and down on the uav
with the chopped its space and crouch, and the controls are inverted for the chopper

Chopper:
W = up
S = down
A = turn left
D = turn right
Mouse Y = nose up/down (go forward/backward)
Mouse X = roll left/right (strafe)

when you first get in, just hold W to gain some altitude before touching the other controls :)

*edit* beaten to it, too slow in my iPhone :P

In my docs for bfbc2 I have it set [sound] quality=medium and speakercount=6

surround seems to work fine, i can allways tell where people are, unfortunate for some if im camping as sniper and someone joins my squad and spawns behind me, I usually turn and shoot lol

I didnt know if that 'speakercount' setting was like the AA setting in the ini, a number which relates to something else, not the actual value

Sounds like its down to your onboard sound, a soundcard does make the world of difference. Well worth the investment.
