I want to get the groomsmen at my wedding a nice fountain pen as a gift. My budget is tiny (£35-£40 max). Could anyone recommend a good option?

Thanks :)

I think Cross pens are regarded as being pretty good, I've heard that they're up there in quality with the posher pens but cost a fraction, and you should be able to pick one up for around £40 I think.

Parker pens have always been known as a good brand. (Well they were when i was younger) but would they use them though?

Stupot - lol my nephew fell for the trick of looking at the pen island website hehe

You can get a pretty decent Cross or Parker for that price, but a pen is actually something that needs to 'fit' correctly in order to use it. I've got several fountain pens, but I only every use one of them because it's comfortable for me and the others aren't. The fit is individual to the person.

:) <- His smile as you give him the pen

:\ <- His expression when he is alone with his "pen"

tbh :p

Hey :P He did actually ask for a pen as its something that wont get lost in a drawer the day after the wedding.

Thanks for the suggestions - will go for one of the cross ones I think.

Fountain pens are 10 a penny

You'll struggle to get anything near decent though for £40.

I bought a Cross a couple of years back and that was cheap at £90.

I bought a Mont Blanc while on hols a few years back and you can tell the difference instantly.

It's like most things in life -- you gets what you pays for.
