Should i buy a lian li pc-a71f ?

When selecting case two years ago I was in contact with one of their product managers and I've been intending to ask about few details in changing to A71FB's top panel for getting that bigger I/O panel so guess I have to mention also that triple rad top panel need.

Ibut they need to get their act together with the A70F/A71F series with regards to top panels, theese cases are crying out for a triple rad panel, unfortunately the older panels are no use now, theese newer cases have a bigger io panel on top
Actually forgot that A7110 had bigger I/O panel so its top panels should work directly in A71FB.

But A70FB has buttons on top so A7010's top panels don't work with it without 5.25" bay panel for buttons.

Yep, i see what you mean about the top mponted pwr/reset buttons on the A70F.

The 5.25 bay button and io assembly does sound interesting, as im currently only using the topmost bay for an optical drive.

a quick question to paradigm... ive seen a video review on youtube which highlights the difficulty in getting at the fan filters!
is that what you have to do to get at the filters or is there another way?

They make it out to be a complete mare, but in reality you can get to them in about 30 seconds. Yes it involves a lot of screws, but in all honesty how often do you need to get to the filters?

thanks for all your input guys... Im gonna nervously order the case tomorrow night!
Im nervous because ive never put together a pc before and purchasing the case is like setting the balls in motion which cant be stopped!!!

Youve made a wise choice, theyre a really easy case to assemble a system in, theres just so much room to work with, and being virtually tool free really helps too.

If your bottom mounting the psu don't forget a 4/8pin extention cable as some psu cables aren't long enough

Every PSU I've ever seen in my life with a 4 or 8-pin 12v connector would happily reach to any point on the mobo. What it might not do however is route behind the mobo tray without being extended.

Yep, had to use an extension on the 2 power supplies ive had in mine, (thermaltake toughpower 750w & corsair hx 850w).

Ive just pushed the button!!!!:D:D:D:D

hopefully it will arrive on friday and i can spend the weekend looking at it

i'll take a few pics when i do the unboxing to start my build log ;)

for now back to the research ....

I couldn't get mine behind the mobo tray..... these cases are huge! I'd also recommend some longer-than-standard SATA cables: Both the DVD and any HDD's you have in the top cage end up being miles away from the connectors. The ones that come with your mobo will reach just about, but won't be neat.

Then use the proper HDD cage?

Why block the cpu and gpu from all that incoming air.i only have 3 hdds so stuck them above mobo out of the way,so maximum of air could be directed at the gpu and cpu cooler

Im only using 2 hdd's at the minute, kept them in the front bay as it's so much easier for hiding cables. No problems with airflow, plus it keeps the drives very cool.

Did you try any other UK retailers? Lian Li are based in Taiwan so I'd say retailers get far less shipments per year compared to say a EU-based company.

looked high and low now and cant find anywhere they have them in stock?

I wonder if this means something? either they are selling faster than they can produce them or maybe there is a problem or a change on the cards....?

What do you think of the lian li pc-A77 ? not the a77f just vanilla a77 I think it looks great better than the new A77f because it retains the hdd cage and 120mm fan at the spare psu mount up top. It's my favourite of the Lian Li.
