Is there anything on the Wii worth playing?

Just browsing through the top games on Metacritic but they're all kinda mediocre or unoriginal, the usual suspects are up there including Zelda, Mario and Wii Fit but they're nothing new.

Is there even anyone developing for the Wii anymore or is it just getting by on it's current catalogue of games?

There hasn't been anything since Mario Galaxy that's really interested me if i'm honest. To be fair it was an amazing game.

There's still loads of people developing for the Wii, the thing is though that any old trash seems to sell so why invest loads of time and money into something when a quick, guilty trash-fest will also sell?

Monster Hunter Tri
Red Steel 2(suppose to be better than the first 1)
No More Heros 1 and 2
House of the Dead Overkill
Madworld
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom(if you like your 2D fighters)
Metroid: Other M(coming at some point this year)

Resident evil 4 wii edition was really good.
House of the dead overkill
Metroid prime
Sports resort :)

My wife's got a wii and a lot of the party type games are fun - it's not really hardcore gamer territory, just a fun family system.
I do like the virtual console though, old school Snes/N64 games and the like.

Redsteel 2 is a great game.

I've also got Cursed Mountain aswell, I'll let you all know how that goes later, as I've only just started playing it.

Looking forward to Monster Hunter Tri at the end of the month aswell.

Red Steel 2
Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Kart
New Super Mario Bros
Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles is pretty good but the camera is very annoying.

Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros' Treasure is suprisingly good once you get past the first hour or so, it's aimed for kids but the game itself is good.

I didn't really like No More Heroes, watch a few videos before you consider it.

I have a one-week loan of a Wii coming up at the end of the month. I've only earmarked Dead Space: Extraction to play. :D

I always wonder what people mean when they say the Wii isn't hardcore. I reckon fully completing Mario Galaxy or getting 100% on all of the Metroid Prime trilogy would be majorly hardcore.

It seems to me people usually mean it doesn't have many shooters.

No it usually means 'not enough good games'.

Why do you think literally 99% of threads and discussion on this forum is about 360 or PS3 games. This is literally the only Wii thread in 3 pages.

So many people have them and pretty much all of them never use the damn thing. Mario kart, mario galaxy were awesome but since then there has been little of note.

The metroid games were amazing last time I played one on the gamecube so I would take a look at the new ones and the old. Metroid prime on the GC is probably joint fave game ever along with MGS4.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade (One of the most beautiful looking games out there and epsecially if you played Odin Sphere on the PS2)
Monster Hunter Tri (Best played with some friends who are into this series)

The upcoming Metroid: Other M and Mistwalker's The Last Story are ones to keep an eye on for the future.

Recently i would recommend Red Steel 2 and silent hill

Also Monster Hunter 3 and Mario Galaxy are coming out soon.
