I agree too. Besides nicer graphics, I still think the older PS2 versions are much better gameplay wise. The recent ones just don't feel the same and I've been playing PES since PS1 days!

I think they ruined the defenders. It's just no fun.

I still regularly play PES 6. So much better.

People like to put down the big games. I remember when Halo became very popular and people would go out of their way to scream it from the rooftops how much they hated it. Every thread that was made you'd get the same faces appearing and slamming it.

This thread is about the worst purchases you've made, and seeing some of the games mentioned just makes me laugh. They must have a very short gaming history.

i didnt like halo at all. mindless repetitive nonsense in my opinion. are you saying im not allowed that opinion?

are you concluding that i must have a short gaming history? which is odd, seeing as the first 'console' i owned was an atari xegs. a console you've probably never heard of.

will you give that a rest seriously. I mean ffs if you cant grasp some people dont love games just beacuse they're popular, then no wonder this makes you laugh.

Popular does not mean fantastically sublimely awesome to everyone, how can you not grasp that. Theres a guy on these forums and I know he hates MGS4 with a passion, mentions it every thread that comes up in which it can be mentioned. I think the game is absolutely brilliant. I dont 'lol you're a goon' this guy because he doesnt like it. But then i have a grasp on the fact not everyone loves everything thats supposed to be great.

No i'm saying certain people like to put games down at every opportunity.

Are you saying that in your gaming history( the longest in the world by the sound of it), that Halo was the worst purchase you've ever made?

People will criticise the big games, some just for attention, others because they actually didnt like a game. I found halo 3 boring and a bit rubbish until I went back and played through 2 and then the story of 3 gave the game more meaning for me on my second attempt and I enjoyed it a lot more.

ODST is rubbish though, too short, too much playing in the black boring hub level, characters I didnt care about, boring levels, same old enemies... glad I only paid £8 for it - the multiplayer disk made it a worthwhile pruchase all told..

..yeah some right stinkers. good job i didnt pay full price for most of them. However, i really REALLY did not like halo.

James.....ZX Spectrum probably had more dodgy games than any platform I can remember.
Some games onthat werent even worth putting on a C90 :)

ok chill out guys...everyone has a different perception to games...on one side we have a kid who shot his parents becuase they took Halo 3 from him on the other side we have those who don't like Halo....But yeah i was a bit shocked when i saw MGS4 name in this thread
 
I picked up Mirrors Edge ages ago because it was cheap but I've only just started playing it it and OMG it's a horrible experience. The gameplay kind of goes like this for me.

Fail

Try again Fail, Try again Fail, Try again Fail etc etc. I'm getting through it slowly but it's excruciatingly annoying. I'm trying to get through it for the trophies and because I hate wasting money. It's extremely mentally painful to say the least.

Gotta go with Spore, dont know why I bought it in the first place, 35 quid for a PC game? I must have been loopy or something that day.
