Metro 2033 crashes at logo screen

When launching Metro 2033 the game crashes to desktop at the first logo screen. Ive got Catalyst 10.3b drivers, any ideas?

Ive got an ATI 5850 that doesnt do PhysX so Im assuming I shouldnt install PhyX drivers right?

the game uses the physx libraries (or atleast looks for them), so you need physx installed. although I would have thought steam would have installed everything on first run.

Got the old raz0r (or was it skidrow version?) that crashes on start up?

Other wise go to the install folder in your program files or where ever you put it and install the physx stuff from the folder in there.

Run the directx installer which is located in C:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\metro 2033\install.

Go to your install folder and enter the folder called install and you will see PhysX..... .exe , run that then the game will work. Yes , even if you have an ati card.

PhysX_10.02.22_9.10.0222_SystemSoftware,

In the install folder of you hard drive,

run it and your off, and yes even if you have an ATi card, ohh arrrg
