Crysis 2 World Premiere Trailer

i bet thats not gameplay footage lol Any one else remember that PS2 game they were showing screens and videos of for about 3 years passing them off as gameplay footage.(the quality was like a ps3 game!!) then a month or two before release they admited they were created screens.. and when the game came out the graphics were awful! god what was that game called..

Hope it won;t be like last time 8800 gtx was like £400 and could not run on full

Dont think it will be. I reckon it will run on full on an 8800gtx (if its a dumbed down console port with reduced graphics) Saying this if its a console port it will probably run like a bag of spanners on the best pc hardware.

Doesnt the 360 use something similar to an ATI X1900XT and PS3 users something like Nvidia 7800GTX.

I know 360 and PS3 are optimised to run on set hardware and games are coded with this in mind but still.

I dont get how 360 has tessellation support though, I thought that is a DX11 feature.

Highly unimpressed with that trailer to be honest. :(

Whats wrong with showing us something a little more exciting than a poor scene from a disaster movie rendered in a 3D game engine???

...this console port will be even turdier.

Has it not been established in every single thread on Crysis 2 that while it is a multiplatform game, it's being developed in parallel for all three platforms?

Essentially this means that it is not a console port, it's a game developed for the PC in its own right.. (and PS3 and 360...:p)

I can't say I honestly believe this. That would be like making 3 games, or at the very least, 3 game engines.

In fact, there's no way in hell that's anything more than something they've said to shut people up about it.

The extra workload of making 3 games in parallel would be massive unless they shared a lot of code. And if they share a lot of code, they can only be as good as the worst platform will allow.

Unless Crytek has enough staff for 3 separate teams? Or they never sleep? :P

Anyone else thing the character / suit looked a bit too muscular, it looked abnormal I think - or maybe it was just the bad quality cam.

Unless you've watched the videos of them demonstrating their engine which allows them to develop on the PC, and it translates (the graphics and art assets at least) into PS3 and XBox 360 on the fly.

I'm sure it is more work than developing for just the PC, or a console, but it makes it a lot less than developing for three formats.

Games are already developed simultaneously for 2 formats, sometimes 3, so why is it hard to believe Crysis won't be - especially when all Crytek's experience is in PC development.

i hope it looks at least as good as the first one, im halfway through it for the first time atm, only just upgraded to smth that'l run it. look forward to hearing/seeing more about #2
