Apple holding iPhone OS 4 event, April 8th!

Well it is. But only for certain features. Audio / GPS / VOIP etc.

Apps will have to specifically cater for multitasking.
 
Meh Multitasking for a lot of people isn't an issue, I;ve had my original iphone from release and have never needed to do more than 1 or 2 things at once :) I can understand the frustration though when comparing it to other phones.

And what i said about the JB isn't about performance and what not. Its the fact that its been done a long long time ago when it should have been there from the start. Apple could have done it before and built the phone around that to support it.

But now with its already bad battery life, they add multi-tasking. Certainly not a bad thing and im not complaining that its coming, just odd that everyone is going nuts when its been there for near the beginning.

I'm guessing the app will only have the core parts left running that it requires and not the whole app, probably using very little resources.

As you know apple don;t do things until they can do them right.

It is well implemented. Of course Apple will make a big deal of it but at the end of the day, they're showing nothing new. It's not multitasking, but Task Switching.

Oh here we go. Their flail of a Push service that is so slow most peeps rely on the Boxcar app lol

Ahh, so it isn't really true multi-tasking. Dang. :(
 
I think we'll be seeing a new notifications system.
