Anyone gardening this year if so what will you be growing (food not flower)

Just put about 100 earlies in my allotment; same for 2nd earlies next week and then the maincrop.
Will be doing other stuff but short of time at the moment.

what are the best gardening forums?

im starting this year just small on my balcony the only garden i have is north facing so doesnt really get any sun at all but my balcony is south facing so gets a lot.

atm i have some cucumber seedlings (marketmore , tomato seedlings (gardeners delight) , 2x bell peppers and a few chilli plants in the south facing kitchen window.

all grown from seeds btw, i'd like to try more stuff but my wife would kill me if i took over every inch of the balcony

How long have you been waiting? Most lists are a couple of years plus long.

it'll be 3 years this summer - have moved since then, now have a 'real' garden - but want a lawn more than I can spare the room for a real veg plot!
there are a tonne of allotments in the city, but they all have crazy long waiting lists :(

have planted up 6 trailing strawberry plants and 4 'tumbling tom' plants - 2 of the toms have died already (skinny stems have toppled over, causing the leaves to wilt - still watering them just in case!)
the damson tree hasn't 'woken up' yet - hoping to plant some soft fruit bushes beneath it - read a guardian article on what will grow in the shade.
also planted up a heb garden - local fox / our puppy keeps peeing on it tho, puts me off picking and eating them!!

Joining a bit late to this one, but so far we have planted:

Spuds
Carrots
Tomatos (some really small ones for the kids and some cherry varieties)
Cucumber
Chilli
Beetroot
Onions
Peas
Grapes (been in a few years and pumps out fruit!)
Gooseberry
Raspberry
Rhubarb
Lettuce
Lots of herbs

I know I have missed some but the neighbours won't appreciate me checking out the labels in me kex on a Sunday morning!

Add the veg to the chicken and quail eggs I get daily and its looking good this year!

what's the best way of removing turf and making it suitable for planting?

Also what's the cheapest compost/grow bags you can buy and how do you work out how many litres of soil you need?

Got 2 gooseberry things from a pound shop lol and 2 large containers for them and 2bags of multi from Wilkinsons and some perlite, stuck em in my mums backyard, wonder if they will grow.

These but there green gooseberrys not red like in pic, otherwise same box.

I've just started growing veg this year (this week actually!). Got a small raised bed in the garden, and my name is on the list for an allotment.

Weather been a bit ropey (it snowed here 2 weeks ago!) so I thought I'd start my seeds in a tray in the summer house and move them outside once they've got a little bigger.

So far i have carrots, lettuce, cabbage, beetroot, rocket, radishes and garlic. Planted the seeds into trays on Sunday, so hoping it won't be too long before I see signs of life! Need to get some netting for the raised beds too, and organic slug pellets.

Beans are out now, and started my sweetcorn at the weekend, fingers crossed for some nice weather!

Beans out ! I not even planted mine yet ! Too cold this spring to put any tender plants out.

Anyone else grow veggies in containers ?
I cutting down on variety and going more for quantity of what we prefer to eat this year, down to...

Carrots
Beetroot
Tomatoes (five varieties)
Chillies
Blueberries
Chives
Mint
Runner beans
Lettace

Only the beans go in the ground the rest in tubs.
