Temp insurance cover for group 20 car

Looking at getting a 3000gt and the logistics of test drives and getting it back, except no one seems to offer temp cover on such a car and my current insurer laughed when i questioned adding one to my current policy! No DOC cover either.
Any one suggest someone who may do?
I've tried the usual places. dayinsure/insuredaily/tempcover and a few others. The car is either to old or they simple state they cannot cover this vehicle..

O ffs wish I had known that when I looked at Tegs.

Is there an age limit, as no temp cover place would do under 25s apart from the odd one. And then those wouldn't do group 18 or over.

When they were Norwich Union, they used to offer the same deal if you bought a car from eBay, except it caught me out one day - I was 20 and buying a 200bhp car, so phoned them up to check there wouldn't be any issues (I travelled 200 miles for the car), they said it was fine - got there, phoned them up to arrange the insurance and they told me they couldn't cover me for the car because I was too young.
