Hi Guys,

Looking for some new tyres, seems I am stuck due to the tyre size, Ideally looking for some Eagle F1 GSD3's however finding anything in 195/60/15 is proving a ballache for the kindof tyre i'm looking at (Eagle F1's / FK452's etc).

Yes I know the GSD3's are end of lifed effectivley but the F1 asymmetrics dont seem to be made in 15 at all.

My question is can anyone think of / know of somewhere which may have some in stock or suggest better alternatives?

Currently my options seem to be moving to 16's or running a 195/50/15 F1 GSD3, neither of which I really want to do.

Didn't think it would be such an effort wanting to run reasonable tyres :P

Thanks

Continental Premium Contact 2. You won't find any 'sporty' tyres in this size, I've already tried :p

It is a painful situation! Have found some F1's as said above in 195/50/15 but get a feeling they would

A. Look silly (considering the focus has enough room to 'smuggle imigrants in it's wheel arches' as it is)

B. Maybe cause issues if the backs are still 195/60/15's (dont know on that one)

Currently running NCT5's all round, wanted something with more grip/better wet handleing.

Thanks for the info!

What he said. (In fact, I said it to him first ;) )

The Accord has the same size and I needed a set recently, so put some Conti Premium Contact 2s on and they're excellent. Good in all weather and they're quiet.. Much quieter than the crappy Goodyear NCT5s on before which as you said were awful in the wet and they're very noisy.

Avon ZV5s are also another good tyre.

ZV5s are pretty awful for the price! I had ZV3s (in a much bigger size) and they were alright but nowhere near as good as the alternatives for the same price. I just happened to get a bargain on them at the time.

Hmm you reckon? The ZV5s are supposed to be hugely better than the ZV3s. I've got no complaints about mine anyway

Right, Just ordered some Conti Premium Contact 2's (Tho still feeling a little sad about the F1's that were not to be :P). Thanks for the info guys, hopefully these will serve me well.

I've not had hands-on experience with the ZV5s to comment from personal experience, but the ZV3s I thought were pretty good until I changed them for better rubber. They only lasted 5 minutes too.

Wouldn't 205/55/15 be a better choice? Closer to his original size and a bit wider too.

I realise it's a bit late now, but something to bear in mind for next time.

Out of interest, would these fit correctly on alloys designed for 195?

The 195/60s look balloon-like enough on mine, I'm sure any wider would just make it more balloony and floppy ;)

Unless the existing tyres are bulging out like balloons already then yes they'll fit just fine.

My wheels came with 205's and I've gone to 225 without any problems. Sure they stick out a bit but it just means that if I do hit a curb, I scrape the sidewall rather than scuff the spokes of my alloys (which stick out from the centre themselves)
