If its for gaming why not drop down to a dual core amd then get a 5770 I think with that you would get more bang for your money. Im not too good with AMD so im not sure what a good mobo and stuff are.

quad core is for the future!!!

hmmm i just need a gaming pc for £500 "/

could anyone give their suggestion builds?

Its a pitty you can't get a little more money.

A ati 5770 is brilliant at £125.

You can save £6 by speccing a corsair CX400W PSU, its got plenty of power and is made from a reputable maker.

will 400 be enough for quad core and 5570? but i do know corsair do perform over the actual limits, the 850W doing 1023W in tests xD

If its for gaming.....save £35 and find a 720 Triple core......put the 35 towards a better Gfx card

For a games rig a Phenom II 720 + 5770 is better than a 955 + 5750.

Seriously, in games the difference between 3 cores and 4 cores is at most 10%.

so there is quite a difference between the 5570 and 5750?

Just try fit a 5770 into your budget, i think its better to get a nice Graphics card instead of a Quad core if its for gaming, Even a dual core should be fine, something like i3 at 4ghz would work well i suppose.

As you picked a micro-ATX motherboard I was going to recommend an Antec NSK3480 case that includes a 380W PSU that is considered decent.

OcUK don't stock it now though, although a quick search showed it is cheaper than your current case + PSU combo with slow free delivery. Depends on if you consider the EarthWatts 380W sufficient for your needs.

Also does the Black Edition CPU include a heatsink+fan? I know it's retail, but when Black Editions were first released they didn't include a cooling solution as aimed at enthusiasts that would use a superior 3rd party cooler.

Try this.

Sapphire HD5770 1Gb £128.99
Asus M4A79XTD-EVO £88.99
Corsair CX400 £39.99
Samsung F3 500Gb £44.99
AMD PHENOM II X2 555 £84.99
Gskill Ripjaw 4Gb DDR3 £93.99

That lot is £481.94

Your case and DVD burner are £45.98.

So total is £527.92.

Vastly better than your previous spec.

Motherboard does true 2X8 crossfire if needed, and has decent cooling on the VRM'S.

You got a fast dual core CPU, that has a chance of extra cores being unlocked.

And a fast 5770 graphics card.

Edit. If you got the Phenom 550CPU you save £8, making the total £520.
