This is a really funny post, because the very Halo you're harping on about had the third game as the conclusive chapter in the series. Look what happened there.
 
Gears 1 was similar to 2, apart from maps etc. obviously was just mainly the ability to grab as well as a few other things. But tbh I wouldn't want that much to change. With online they do need to sort matchmaking. Sooner they start connecting europeans to europeans and americans to amercians the better.
 
I love Gears of War. It is just a really good game despite not being ground breaking. Maybe it is just the control system but I really like it and co op with a mate is awesome. I have wasted several days playing them both. Can't wait.

No, they said it was the concluding part of Master Chief's story.
 
Gah, I read that as April 2010 for some reason and positively OMG'd, then I realised it said 2011...

Still, looking forward to this.
 
I like the story in GoW. Whilst you can go ultra loose and describe it as that, there is slightly more to it...
I never understand some of the people on this forum. It's a sequel, of course the game is going to be similar.
If they released a game that was worlds apart from the previous ones, I probably wouldn't like it.

It's strange, I never really see people posting in threads for a new Fifa game (as an example), whining of how it's similar to the previous release.
 
I have to say i found the storyline far better on the PC in gears1, mainly because it made sense. (For those that don't know, an entire chapter was removed on the 360 release in order to push the release date forward, on the PC this chapter was put back in, it involved the group travelling to the train while being chased by a brumark. In the 360 version it got confusing as they suddenly went from Marcus' house to a train which was for some reason swarming with baddies, in the PC they actually explained that the train was under attack while you were trying to get to it, and was eventually taken over)

I'm hardly 'harping' on lol, just seems a bit odd that they are suggesting GoW 3 is the final one.

I assume they have new exclusives up their sleves.
 
I guess this one will be more of the same when it's released which would put it near the top of my most wanted lists :p
