just thinking of upgrading my gpu, which card would be ok for my pc specs,or is the 9800gtx+ still ok. for future games,

is the 9800 what you have at the moment?

Also what are the rest of your specs and what sort of performance do you get on them?

I myself own a 9800GTX+ 512MB, and while it can max out most games with 4xAA at 1680x1050 (except for games like Crysis), I wouldn't recommend it as an upgrade option for you. You would be much better off getting a 5770 1GB, since it has lower power consumption (lower temp), faster and has dx11 support.

I game on the 9800gtx+ with 1680x1050 perfectly fine. However the card sucks at any res higher than 1680.

Personally, i wouldnt buy this card new, but mine still throws out a decent fps score on all my games so second hand might be an option.

Also, off topic but wth, why does the gts 250 have much lower clocks than the 9800? Its the same chips, yet ive seen the 9800 up to 760mhz on the gpu clock.

dspite the blatant rebranding saga, i would pick the gts250 over the 9800gtx+.
a) i seem to remember reading that the reference board if half an inch shorter (every little helps...)
b) despite the fact its the same chip, i reckon it will be supported by nvidia for just that little bit longer.
and im pretty sure you could OC it upto 9800+ speeds.

although if you wanna go new, then 5770 all the way

Don't think it matter too much, since 9800GTX+ can have its bios flashed to become at GTS250. It's been tested and it works, even able to SLI with a GTS250.

But yea, no point upgrading to a card that's got no dx11 now...unless it is a HD4870/4890 1GB at a low price.
