I ran it last year however it's not worth it and me jumping Alex by 1 point purely because I hosted one more table doesn't really show my poker merit. Alex was the better player has he played in less games and still managed to beat me.

Oh well, I thank you for your organising this year, but purely out of politeness and nothing else.
 
I've had a thought about table payments for next year. What about people paypaling someone(not necessarily me) before the season starts. Only when they have 12 payments only will the tournament will start. That way we have covered the costs straight away?

Comments on this idea?

A record will be kept of who as already paid and two points will be awarded to said person.

Seeing as you're crying out for volunteers to host tables, saying you're not going to organise next years due to lack of people willing to and then not honouring this rule and reward those of us who have volunteered I find a bit rich.

I don't really care where I end up or how many points I've got, This is all a bit of fun. My point is it's about playing (fairly) with the rules that some of us agreed upon over the years of which I've been a part of from the start aswell as you. You being the organiser not running these by these rules means petty doesn't come into it.

As I said, I'm thankful out of politeness for your time you've given to us. Call me petty if you want, fine. Move the goalposts if you want, also fine.

Sorry Tom I shouldn't have had a go and I can see your point. However it was never mentioned in this years rules as I felt that it didn't make a difference last year. The heart of the problem is that we had 42% of the 80 players this year only play 1 game. This says to me that we need more regular players as they would be more inclined to stick with the league for its duration and in turn be more willing to pay.

If it runs again, it will be starting around January, IF it runs again. Hopefully it does, was great fun having regular games with people.
 
Hi Yes it should be running next year. I might for next year however run 2x 6 weeks spilt over a year instead of just one 12 week block.

I have just noticed this thread.

I love poker and I play most weekends. I would love to get in on some of the action. Look forward to hearing more about the next tourney.
