Polish president Lech Kaczynski killed in plane crash

Seeing the mourning in Poland made me think; Is it only me that thinks if this happened in the UK I can't see most people caring?

Anybody with half a brain would care. Obviously I appreciate this rules out vast swathes of the general public who love nothing more but to hold sweeping generalised opinions on things they know little about (ie: Wouldnt it be soo LOL if the PM died LOLOLOLOL), but.. if you've got more than just sawdust up there, you'd care if the equivilent had happened here.

That's not a nice comment. Wishing death on someone, terrible. You should be ashamed. Digusting.

Guess I'm disgusting, as I personally wish death upon the following:

Kim Jong Il
Than Swe
Robert Mugabe
Joseph Kony
Osama bin Laden

The above is just a taster, as I'm sure you can imagine, there are an awful lot of other people this world would be far better off without.

A change of government here would be a wonderful thing for the country, unless one is a die hard labour supporter I can imagine people crying with joy and breaking out the champagne as those who are destroying the country perish in the flaming wreckage.

No, but nearly 3000 dead human beings should be justification enough to eliminate the source of them. Not to mention the fact that those living in this country have a very hard life and if you change that then they would be less inclined to join these extremist groups themselves.

Why are you so bothered about which country they came from? What difference does it make?

But they weren't British for starters... Actually most of the insurgents in Afghanistan aren't Afghan, most of the others are people fighting to get their country back or people who've had relatives die due to the war...

3000 non British citizens is nothing to write home about, when compared to other atrocities it's a drop in the ocean. People are killed daily, live with it.

Why does it matter? Because it didn't really affected the UK, America can go and fight any wars it wants, has nothing to do with us... I would rather we went int Zimbabwe and sorted out the Regime there, considering far more British were murdered there...

If we're really going there how many of the 9/11 guys were Afghan? Or Iraqi? Ah, none... back in 2001 the two best places to actually attack would have been Saudi Arabia/Yemen and Pakistan....

Anyway way off topic, back to the topic in hand...

Firstly: Mr Kaczynski - it's how we write the surname.
Secondly - this "stupid" party (in translation: Law And Justice) is a work of both twin-brothers, him and Jaroslaw who is its president, CEO whatever.
1st- Whatever, you know who I meant, does it really matter how I typed his name?
2nd- I know, I'm Polish and occasionally follow the politics there ( though mainly my parents get wound up over it).
So focusing on a clue: I know there are some similar points to the mid ages in this party, which personally I don't support. But do you really think the "bright ages", or so-calles nowadays, might be proud 100% of Gays families, euthanasia, abortion, softdrugs ("etc") ? Where is it that "brightness" then ?
No, but support was enough to make normal liberal laws rather than staying with the backwards old ways. Why on earth can't people enjoy normal life because they're gay, it's not like it's their fault is it ?
BTW, my private opinion about abortion is it should not be allowed, nor banned - question is who and why does want to do it... educate people first, and allow them dispose their bodies next, not in reverse order. I'm not a catholic, but what's that civilisation which features death (abortion, euthanasia) - where is it going to ?
People being able to do with their body what they like, sorry but in my opinion it's none of some other meddling person business a woman does not want her kid, it's HER child, nobody elses, and HER body... I'm a liberalist and I always will be, I hate people telling people what to do with their own body... If someone is in pain or simply has no reason to live any more, he should be allowed to die in a controlled and legal way.

It's not a place, nor time - but look at other civilisations which take your place, slowly, but consistently and constantly. In your country. In other West European countries. It's not "mixing". It's slow exchange. But of course, you can always smoke a joint, allow your partner to remove your baby and switch your parents off the oxygene. Have a nice future.

I'm having trouble understanding this bit of your post. Other civilizations taking my place ??? I'm pretty sure the future in the NL is still brighter for a higher percentage of people than in Poland...

Church still plays big role in Poland.
Which is holding them back imo... There are few things I dislike as much as Religion, especially Catholicism.

It's not a child, it's a fetus. Cut the umbilical cord and it will die. It's essentially a parasite (no really, the body reacts to it in the first few weeks just like that) that uses an attachment to suck nutrients from its host.

To the person SD quoted. You wouldn't say you ate a chicken if you ate a fertilised chicken egg would you? The fetus can't be dead as technically it was never born. An Abortion essentially destroys a bunch of cells, that most likely doesn't have a brain or even look lik a human. That's the whole idea of the 24 week cut off period. Before the 24 weeks there is virtually nil chance of the fetus surviving after leaving the womb so all it is is a bunch of cells, after the 24 weeks there is a good chance of it surviving (at least a few weeks after) which means it can become alive, and why abortions are restricted to before 24 weeks.

Okay fetus... Point still stands, who is the government or church or some meddling random people to tell her what to do with it  ?

Yes, you are disgusting and also disrespectful.

Possible date of Saturday for the funeral of the president.

It will be a very strange atmosphere going over there for a knees up with work during such difficult times.

Thank you. :)

But seriously, what's the problem with wishing such a fate as those I've listed, men who have the blood of at least hundereds of thousands, if not millions of their own people on their hands? Do they really deserve respect considering what they've done?

I just think the whole "I wouldn't wish death upon anyone" thing is shockingly naive considering the people and the world we live in. It's a sad indictment of the barbarity of mankind really.

I wouldn't wish our PM dead but if for whatever reason he did die I would not care.

I suppose I now fall into your "generalisation" of the rest of the public.

Damn.

Come to think of it, I didn't care when Michael Jackson died eaither. Maybe I'm a bad person.

...Must....Resist...

Very sad news anyway, Nottingham Forest have a polish football player and he was wearing a black armband saturday, didn't know why till I got home from the match. :(

I'd rather wish repentance and 'own recognizance' on those kind of people.

Even Saddam at the gallows was trying to get out the basic affirmation of faith, but his executors pulled the lever before he was halfway through. Was he sincere? None of us knows.
