Car speakers

i dont know if this is the right place on the forum for this as i cant find another place to put it (or im blind).

my mum needs some new speakers for her car because she blew them up listening to drum and bass. she's got about 50 quid to spend on them but i have no clue when it comes to sound stuff. so i decided to come to you forum people to see if you could suggest some car speakers for the budget. i hope you can help.

The guys in the motors forum might be a better help, but last year I fitted some Alpine SXE-1325S 13cm Speakers in my car, £40 from a popular motoring outlet. Brilliant for the price, although you may need an adapter for the fittings.

hahaha she does like a bit of DnB i probably contributed to the destruction of the speakers with my collection as well

What size slots are they for her car?

im havent checked as she's away at the moment but i will have a look soon.

Have to ask, but what head unit is in her car and what power does it output? Worth noting before you get speakers that are underated for the head unit and you end up blowing them again.

I replaced the factory fit ones in my Clio with a set of Pioneers from the same car parts outlet mentioned earlier. Had to remove the ends of the wires and crimp some connectors on as Renault use their own style.

Never got close to maxing them out, but they go very load and are fairly meaty in the bass end
