Hamster Help

The weather has been warmer lately, so the hamster is probably too warm to sleep inside his or her bed. They also aren't too keen on their cage when you've cleaned their cage out, because it doesn't smell of them anymore, so the hamster may have gone to sleep somewhere else because the bed doesn't smell like theirs anymore. Whenever you clean out the cage, keep a small handfull of their previous bedding and put a bit of it into the cage so they still have a familiar smell.

They also can be very still when they're asleep and look like they are dead, also as they get older, it takes a few seconds longer for them to wake up.

Hope that helps, shout if you want to ask anything else.

Ive been to check on her this morning and she's gone to her bed so I think maybe she was just a bit warm and founded it more shaded under there , the only real thing concerning me was that she was sleeping at night but I guess if she didn't get as much sleep earlier then she would take a nap later on.

Has she got a wheel, mine does it to cool down after a run, she lies very still but if you disturb her she acts as normal so it sounds a bit different, she often goes near the bottle or at least on the top plastic levels, often she is awake actually just checked some pictures:

Mine's getting on a bit, bless! But anyway I wouldn't be concerned unless it goes hand in hand with other odd behaviour. Mine usually moves all her bedding out the house and has a nest, but sometimes she'll sleep in the house if it's too warm.

Yeah thanks for that I think she'll be fine, nothing other than sleeping at night was worrying me although she did look quite content so I guess if she's happy its not a problem. I wish she would let me see her sleep more its very cute
