cheap dongle internet for mother

Lookin for advice on a cheap net dongle option for my mother and her old pc has 1 usb and is pentium 2 i think 233mhz and iirc win 98 se. For occasional use on ebay and chat with family. Cheap as chips.

Anyone know any good deals?
 
Doesnt use it so whats the point of a new one, if we get her a dongle she will use it a bit for ebay and chat which you dont need anything more powerful for that.

Maybe, but you're probably going to struggle to find a dongle that supports Win98SE. A much better machine that'll run XP could be had for buttons. A used P4 machine ideally with 1GB of ram will be a much better starting point for her.

You will also find that many sites now don't support the older browers supported by Win98. You can't use IE7, you can't use Firefox 3.
