All these hardware stores and home stores only sell little bed side lights, or mountable lights which really wouldn't give off much light in a store room.

Yes, I have looked and have had to resort to asking OcUK :p

Is there anywhere I can get just a plain light that either has a pull string at the end, or just a bulb on a piece of wire with one of those little switches near the 'neck' of the bulb which I can either mount myself, or hang up myself.

Any ideas?

We have to a bulb holder (just the neck kinda bit) that is attached to the wall and comes out at 45deg'. Cable has plug on the end so we just control it by the socket.

Get them in b&q very cheap will try find link.

light bulb install is basicly plug+cable+bayonet fitting + bulb.

no fancy electronics

That's exactly what I'm looking for, a bayonet fitting that plugs into a normal wall socket that I can either mount, or hang using the wire.

Sounds perfect, would be brilliant if you can link me? :)

Toolstation, Screwfix and Wilkinson all sell what your after and it's unlikely to cost you much more than £5 for everything. You want a bayonet fitting which is often in the style of 'batten lamp' or 'pendant lamp' depending on what you want and should cost you around £2. The flex is probably something like £0.50 per meter and a UK plug is about 75p. You might want to add in a bulb and some cable clips to do a complete job.

Ooo, build your own light!

If it's that cheap I might get a few then, mount them in various places for maximum lightage!

if you can build a pc you can attach some wires , when i was at school we even had a lesson dedicated to wiring a plug lol....

if you cant be bothered just buy a cheap lamp and smash it and you have what you would make
