I fancy getting the above titled CPU to replace my Q9300. I know my mobo will take it but will there be a decent performance increase too??

Decent boost ?
At stock speeds - Yes.
If you overclock - then not as clear cut.Partic. if your existing chip will get to 3.4. If so boost?Yes. but massive? No.
If it's a 'free' upgrade then go for it.
But if it's going to cost you say £80 or more to upgrade probably best saving for an i7 instead
Hello Everyone.
Intel takes the Core 2 specification to the Extreme. This 45nm based processor is designed for lightning fast performance .It all depends if you plan to overclock or not.
