hey all, been loving my iphone an had it for about 8-9 months and not had a single problem. now i have come over to germany to visit a friend, first day worked no porblem, charged it over night and was working fine during the day. but about half way through the day i was taking pics as we were sight seeing, put it in my pocket and took it out again 2 mins later to take some more snaps and it wouldn't turn on :( tried plugging it into a dock, nothing, yet to charge it as been out. really annoyed :( espicaaly because if i get lost now ill be screwed xP

ive tried holding down the power button for over a min and nothing :(

anyone had this problem and know how to resolve it ?

edit:

oo just been looking on other forums and they said that someone tried holding down the power button and the home button together for liek 15 secs and it came alive again...

ive just tried it and the batter flashed up saying it needed to be charged and went off again like it would do if it had run out of battery.

but before i put it in my pocket it was on 85+% .... very odd, is my iphone kaput or think if i charge it again it will come back to life?

snappy responses would be very much appreciated as hate not having it as it had maps and important contacts and addresses for here

thankyou overclockers :) i know you'll pull through for me :D

I had this problem with my 3G, funny thing was the screen was black and it was on. Hold power and home button and see if that helps? I think I did that and it reset and started itself again.

yea :) it's working fine again now :D did a little research and it seems the phone was on but the screen was just blank hence it comming up with the no battery remaining logo. put it on to charge and its all fine :)

so if this happens to anyone else i suggest as vita said, hold down the power button and home button for about 10 seconds and it should bring it back to life :) case closed hehe

Any reason why this happens? Ive had to do this 3 times now on seperate occasions - wondering its its a symptom of something worse and worthwhile taking a trip to the Apple shop?

ps3ud0

do be honest ps3ud0 i have noooo idea... and they say mac's never crash xP haha might be worthing calling up the support if they have a free number and asking about it. don't think the people in the shop would be that much help to be honest. asked about it here in germany and they didnt know, didnt even have a charger i could use for 2 mins xP

Seems to be a pretty common problem, I would have thought Apple would have come up with a better colour for their screen of death :D
