Licence renewal

It ran out on Sunday, not got round to renewing it, they want £20, DVLA say I could be fined £1k :confused:

, I drive like 10 miles a week, any real reason for me to rush and get it renewed.

There was a big hooh-hah a while ago about loads of people getting fined because they hadn't realised that they expire. So I guess they are pretty strict with it, if I were you I'd get the form sent off as soon as you can.

What's the fine for driving with no licence and subsequently invalid insurance? Can you afford those?

What its valid, its just the photo that need updating, the paper part is surly still valid.

If it runs out then you either renew it or stop driving.
Would you take the same relaxed approach to your tax, MOT or insurance?

After bills come out I have nothing left, so say If I did not drive any car I could not get fined?

Thats right, no fine if you don't drive. You no longer have a valid driving license, so you cannot drive.

If you can't afford £20 to get your driving license renewed then is a car really a sensible financial commitment?

I will admit I can just afford to run my car on the wage I am, Insurance, road tax, fuel, mot, service etc. just another shafting we all take at being a motorist.

Thing is I need to get one photo and they cost like £4.50 for 4.

****! Ok so how do you go about renewing (ie what forms are required) Just checked mine and lets just say it more than a few months out of date!
