i'd say GTX470, because it's got more features and overall it will give you a better gaming experience with PhysX, CUDA (Just Cause 2).

only got 5870 myself because i gave up waiting for GTX4x0.

I still game on gtx280 and it is perfect for all NEW games on 1900x1080, and I play ME2, Bioshock2, Dirt2, Grid, Assassins Creed 2, Metro, Bad company, AVP,..etc.

a lot of GTX 4** benchmarks and reviews mentions rushed drivers for the new cards. maybe in few weeks, new, optimised drivers will change temp/performance for 400 series?

It's perfect in your opinion, I wouldn't say metro 2033 runs great on my setup @1920x1200 tbh.

I guess it depends on how much eye candy you're prepared to sacrifice.
