I think the renewal is stupid. Give people their licenses and let them keep them. The checks on photo ID are so laissez faire it's more or less irrelevant that the photo is up to date. Unnecessary cost for all involved.

Just did mine, took them ages to cash the cheque

I also used a photo from my own camera with no problem

Agree with this, I am also have fork out £80 for a new passport.

Manage to pawn some goods and going to send it off tomorrow ASAP dont want to be a criminal.

I think every ten years is a reasonable amount of time, your appearance can change quite a lot in that time TBH.

Your appearance can also change drastically in 5 years or 2 years or 2 months. The point is that 10 years is so arbitrary, and the checks so infrequent and uncaring, that it really doesn't matter, and we may as well save ourselves the hassle and not force renewal. It's a waste of time and resources.

It does'nt matter how much your appearance changes though does it
Ive had my paper one since i was young and ive only had to produce it one time.

No need to have a photo on it other than cash cow
