system for nephew £500ish plus vat

My 16 year old nephew wants a new computer to do his school work on and it do some video work on. He makes films in Halo and wants to port them in to a pc to play with them. He is actually not that worried about PC games so he doesn't need a mega graphics card but it might be worth specing a power supply that can cope with one.

We will need everything inc OS but fourtunatly we can claim the vat back.

Also is there any OC ready built systems that will do the biz.

And becuse you get VAT back, you have £120 for a monitor.

Good choice ont he 64bit OS leaves room for ram upgrades in the future

I would say scout about for the student offers on windows 7 and you can get it for about half the price than the retail one, 42 pounds if i remember rightly, and if you can claim the vat back then i would definitely go for a pre-built system and spend the rest on any peripherals you need
