Holiday ideas for a loner

Im thinking of going on holiday for around a week in May. Thing is I've asked all my friends and none of them can make it that week I have managed to book off work.

So it looks like I'm going on my lonesome. So I've been looking online and found a deal to Tunisia for £230 , 7 nights all inclusive. The resort looks like it's aimed for families and young couples though, but there are excursions to neighbouring Roman settlements and Cities which sounds cool.

What do you guys think?

I can't imagine people go on trips like that on their own.

Some ideas for you -

Do a course, i.e. sailing (it's a bit more expensive, £445 out of port solent, but you get a qualification and a skill)

Go on a trek somewhere, again its a bit more expensive, but I've been with imaginative traveller before and they're awesome, most people were single too. Or just grab your stuff and wing it:)

My sister did Prague last year by herself for some reason. I'll try and find out why she opted for that place.

I've done quite a few UK holidays by myself, but I'm doing it on the principle that I'm meeting new people as they've all been charity music workshops. I don't think I'd like to holiday by myself if I wasn't meeting people new or old.

depends what you want from a holiday. do you want to lie on the beach with a book/music and relax or do you want to go exploring ?

ignore that its aimed at familys too. surely most holidays are and im sure it wouldnt be hard to avoid all the family crap if theres a nearby town/beach. if it allows you to do things youd want to do then dont worry about what others think

Done plenty of scuba diving holidays on my own.
Thailand, Australia and Maldives twice.
But then you do get a mix of meeting people into the same hobby and then also time on your lonesome to relax, read a book, take a wander etc.

Do it, but make it a constructive holiday with a plan.

No worries, they've got some great trips! I did a 3 week tour from istanbul to russia, it's quite free and easy rather than being bussed around looking at sights. Just with the added convenience of transport and accomodation being organised for you and a guide that gives walking tours etc if you want to join them. Plus you meet a bunch of people and all get together in evenings for meals and drinks if you didn't stick around during the day.

Did Barcelona on my own for a week and had a blast. I was staying in a hostel but had a private room. All I did is go to the hostel bar first night, got chatting to people and ended up being invited to do all sorts of stuff.

Highly recommend Barcelona, amazing city and beautiful weather in May :)

Staying at a resort on your own is a bit odd. You'll get bored easily. Do something like what's been mentioned above: adventure holiday, exploring, backpacking etc

A resort like that on your would be strange, and somewhere like tunisia would be suicidal, if you were to leave the resort on your own you would get bombarded by people trying to sell you crap, they wont leave you alone untill you buy something.
