Well like I say I think the damage is right where it should be and at close range 7-8 people with a clip is very realistic.

when talking about the kick back, as soon as you have the steady aim on it, then I agree it's stupidly easy to kill people from almost any range! It may well get patched eventually though.

I can honestly say being killed by an M60 has never made me rage though. The thing that annoys me most is the amount of snipers, 90% of who are ****ing awful and don't help in any way! YAY attacking recon.... >_<

I disagree, at close range in hip-fire you should get destroyed by other weapons easily since its kickback should be huge, meaning an SMG or Assault would easily be superior for killing. But this was mid-longish range, all using the 4x Scope and it gets no worse at long-extreme range. I really wouldn't be surprised if people have made M60 scripts to fire single shots at the absolute highest speed that gives perfect accuracy.

I love my Gustav. Great for those last ditch moments when you have no ammo in either gun and are faced with near certain death. :D:D:D

Loving the M60 as I unlocked it finally last week.

I will await your whinging and whining on the server :p

You know machine guns are actually pretty damn accurate at range right? :p

The MG36 is a good example of what a LMG should be like, they should adjust the M60 near to it's level.

The M60 needs a slight nerf (maybe just some recoil), but the MG36 may as well be a carrot, it's utterly useless :p

This, m60 noobs eat your heart out, by the time you get 1 bullet off 10 bullets are flying towards you head. Amazing gun, got platinum on it and no other engineer gun compares, aku aint bad tho.

I prefer the UMP, if only for the better medium-range accuracy. No point firing a magazine off in one second if they all miss :p

I've started having a weird problem today. Every server I join, within about 5-10 minutes I lose connection to, get dropped to the main menu and asked to log in to EA again, so I'm guessing its my EA connection that is dropping.

Anyone else having it?

maybe you just shouldnt be able to move while using the m60, i could deal with that i think

That's a little overkill, even in my M60 hating eyes.

What i'd request is that, when standing, the M60 has an offensive amount of kickback (as LMGs do in real life, they are meant to be used from a prone/prepared position). When crouching the kickback is reduced but still greater than it is now.

As far as i'm concerned the damage can stay relatively the same, maybe a minor damage reduction, the sniping accuracy needs to go.

more bullet dropoff for the m60 at range would be great, maybe reduce the damage by ~10% would be all I would change with it. The more they make it like the other LMG's they might aswell take it out of the game as there'd be no point having 2 identical LMG's.

Well obviously, but the gun needs some balance and the accuracy is just too high for its damage.

Exactly, if this was like real life the rocket launcher would just take out an entire room full of people in one... o wait

This isn't a real-to-life simulator, it's a fast paced action shooter, the guns all need to be balanced and fair and each class needs to have its place. At present i feel some (M60, gustav, gren launcher) are far and beyond better weapons than the rest and need to be brought into line, even if that does bring them further away from real life.

By theway, for anyone having loading issues with an ATI cards, there's a new set of 10.5 betas just been posted in the GPU forums which apparently have helped several of the guys a LOT with the loading times.

Thought I'd mention it here because its directly relevant to BC2 ATI users, or some of them!

Appreciated but you're about two pages too late :p

Oh well, i still think it was a terrible decision to give LMGs to Medics. Giving them to Engineers as the 'heavy weapons dude' and making them choose between all kit gear and RPGs or LMGs and C4 (and maybe AT Mines) would've been a huge improvement. At least that way Medic would be an actual support class with value to the team, not a point whore class.

Agreed on all points tbh.

The engy should be a specialised class, choosing between support and anti-armour would fall within my 'vision'.

The medic in previous battlefields always had diet versions of rifles, whereas Assault always got the 'full fat' versions, giving them that edge in combat.

They've made some poor decisions, but it's still damn fun and i won't be leaving any time soon. After some nerfs/boosts of certain gear i can see it being a lot better too.
