Hi,

I need to upgrade my motherboard to allow 4Gb of RAM, but am not keen to need to get a new CPU right now. I currently have an Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 and I was wondering if anything still in production will take this until I can afford an upgrade to that too.

Can anyone advise if anything will take this? I've tried to look and sadly my knowledge of hardware bits has lagged a lot since the days of building my own PC every year a decade ago ;)

Are you talking about 4GB modules or 4GB total?
If it is the latter, then there should be plenty of options ... most of the socket 775 boards for sale at OCUK should be fine.

I want to go up to 4Gb total. My current old ASRock DualSATA board only takes 2x1Gb max.

Looking at the OCUK mobos there seems to be multiple types of 775 boards, which do I need?
