So my old 8800GT died on me recently and I've just sent it off to EVGA today. I'm just wondering if any of you guys have had any RMA's with EVGA previously and what their service was like and what replacement card do you think they will send out?

Thanks.

I had a mobo i sent away and didn't hear anything for 3 weeks i had to chase them up on it and the replacement that came back died so i put my foot through it EVGA are no longer on my list of companies i would deal with.

Unless your american where I believe they do a next day swap, you hear nothing and what turns up is...well poor imo.

Like Iguana I certainly dont and wont use them again.

Id say it depends what stock they have. You mayt get another 8800GT, but then again tey may send you a GTX260. Luck of the draw really :)

Well, this is something I wasn't expecting. Seems theres nobody home at EVGA......

"A delivery was attempted for your item with reference *********** in GERMANY before 16:03 on 01/04/10. A card may have been left, depending on the country's postal service. If undelivered, it will be returned to the UK."

Havnt ordered anything from evga since 0'6 when they had offices in Ireland/Uk or better EU offices, but got a replacement 7950gt really quick, but since then they only have one place in germany afaik, which deals with everyones problems with all evga products in the EU.

In the USA though, its a max 14 day turn around with most times being within a week replacement or set-up/refund. Everywhere else seems to get a really low turn around, with incredibly slow communication. Dont think il buy an evga product again tbh, bareing in mind their warrenty/step-up is part of their price premium.

Very wierd surely they have a drop box..

Get on the EVGA forums mate they will sort it out for you, they tend to work faster if you have a moan on their forum.

This happened to me mate exactly - i spoke to the main guy at EVGA he said Royal Mail do this all the time - i tried the next day and said item delivered , anyway i sent back a faulty 8800GTX i recieived a superclocked GTX260 the following week .

he said they had no 8800 in stock thats why i received the GTX260

I once sent a working 680i board to evga for a step up to 780i, turned down due to "dirt in the heatsink", this was a lie to start with as id cleaned the board with an airline prior to shipping. The board lay god only knows where for 4 weeks while they moved premises, then when i got my 680i back again it died a few days later.

I had an 7850 go belly up on me, so i sent it back to Evga on a tuesday, saturday morning a 8800gts turned up.

I would never hesitate to big up the EVGA support, i like them a lot :)

I just mailed EVGA this morning to ask if there was any progress with this and if they had an ETA on a replacement card as I have been waiting for a week or so. I recieved an email back telling me that they still have no 8800GT in stock to replace with or any 9800GT either. He said they can send me this card now if I want it. Is it worth taking this card or holding out for a 8800/9800GT?

Thanks.

Take the GTS250 offer. A GTS250 is a 9800GTX+ rebranded, so it's better than 8800/9800GT! The EVGA GTS250's default core and memory does seem lower than it should be, guess you need software such as EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner to clock them back up.
