***Official Wrath of the Lich King Thread***(Contains spoilers)***

I bought mine a few hours ago.

The best thing about it is that it's for all and any of your characters on the account of your choosing, both current and future, and it dynamically changes to your riding skill and your location - so your level 20 characters can use it to ride around in Azeroth for example. So really, £17 isn't a lot if you consider it's now the only mount you will ever use on every single character ever.

It still needs fixing however - it doesn't scale with your player's race and size, and it doesn't slope on hills and stairs and the like.

blizzard must be desperate for cash cause the player base has dropped a lot and its a nice way to make some fast cash cause retards will also buy crap like this!

Any links to the player base dropping a lot?

"retards will buy crap like this" :D

Well they are making a lot of money from it. if 100,000 but it (ive seen people in queue around 50 - 60k so i guess its not that far offf, no idea how many they have) x £17 thats 1.7 million if im correct. Thats a fair chunk of cash :P

Blizzard have admitted recently that the playerbase has remained static over the last 12 months source so that's pretty much incorrect. I'd expect numbers to go back up when Cataclysm launches - it's redesigned the game to make it more newbie-friendly and introduce a lot of content that will have veteran and new players alike rolling new characters. Subscriber numbers went up significantly after the previous 2 expansions, I think it's a guarantee they'll go up again, especially as Cata will launch without any significant competition around.

As for the mount -well I'm one of the retards who bought it. Personally, for a mount that all my characters, present and future can use throughout their lifespan, I'm happy to pay £17. Seeing as we're paying £8.99 a month to play this game, that seventeen pounds isn't really a big deal?

Or are you just too e-cool to admit you want it as well?

why would i want the mount when i have s2 s3 glad mounts s6 frostwrym, ICC 10 25 frostwryms, mimirons head + immortality mount! bear mount + more rare ones! id rather have a rare mount then some £17 thing that every scrub is soon to have!

only thing they have done right with it is allowing all ur chars to access it and its dependent on current mount speeds which is cool! other then that i wouldnt want it, i quit wow on saturday after playing hardcore since beta!

Ok that's great, but you don't have to go into 'hate Blizzard/wow' mode like so many quitters have been lately. It's a little tiresome. It's a game, not a lover. ;)

You know with this "Celestial Steed" mount, if you use it with a character who e.g. doesn't have a mount at all yet what speed increase do you get if any? Just slightly confused thats all.

I imagine you won't be able to use it until you obtain the riding skill. And after that it will just go at whatever riding skill you have.

There is a lot of animosity on the forums about it. Genius move though by Blizzard, must have netted them a small fortune :D

imo £17 is a lot of money, sure it covers every char u will have but the you can easily afford all the mounts just with gold from leveling, so its not saving time from grinding gold out. its the riding skill that costs the small fortune which this doesnt give you.

plus they will be common as muck in week.

this ofcourse is my opinion.

i stick with my netherdrake i see very few of them :)

well played blizzard.

Meh, paying rl cash for a mount is sad.

/Starts 5th week of camping Time Lost Proto Drake :p

I started playing again 2 weeks ago, causually doing my JC daily (although to be fair I do check the time-losts fp taking the long route) I found and killed him ;)

I bought the steed, it has its pros and cons but to those banging on about paying real money they need to look at themselves and realise they pay a monthly fee to play a bunch of pixels themselfs.

Its my opinion and that won't change, but you're free to disagree ;)

Depends. I would consider paying for a faction / server transfer, but to buy an in game item I think is where people's drawing the line.

Though, I've currently quit so :p
