Hey guys

I'm looking at arranging for some Aluminium DVD-RW Drives to be manufactured.
Here are some proto-type's.

Retail price would be looking at close to £30 for the drives potentially.

What do you all think about these?
 
Well the drive itself is a 24x LiteOn.

It is quite pricey due to the production costs for the aluminium bezel.
 
Looks good but needs some sort of branding on the front imo to set it off. Even if it's just the Lite-On logo etched onto the front of the loading tray or something. Perhaps others will prefer the plain look but just my opinion.
 
Etching logos on will put up the price more, which is already a little high I think for it to be a good seller. This may play well with people who have alu brushed cases, like Lian Lis and similar, though only the most vain users!

Is there an option of just buying an alu bezel that will fit most drives or are they all too different?

Correct would add to the costs.

This bezel will fit the LiteOn drives only AFAIK - most drives vary to some degree.
 
Ok perhaps not 'etching' as such but even some sort of a transfer would suffice. Looks too 'plain jane' to me but has massive potential all the same. Im sure the OEM of these drives could put a label/branding of some sort on the front for pence.

Please please please do a brushed Silver version, and how about a blueray matching drive.

I would promise to buy both, so I can have the best of both worlds.
 
I will chase up on Monday about a Silver version, and a better BluRay drive is also in the process.
 
These would look fantastic in lian li and silverstone cases. Please don't etch any logos on them as they match these cases perfectly.

Bluray in Silver option too?

And the only etched logo should be the standard DVD rewriter and Blue ray swirl logo, either to the left or right of the drive tray fascia.
