Im really getting into playing fifa 10 at the moment on xbox live, gives me a break from MW2 anyway.

But the annoying thing is , is that almost everyone I play quits! Only the odd few stay online to suffer a beating from me. This is seriously ruining the game for me...

Anyone else have this problem? And is there a punishment for those who quit?

I have the same problem and yes, it is very frustrating indeed! Apparently they're going to implement a system to combat quitters in that they get punished for it in some way. That'll be in Fifa 11 though.

Played one guy last night and I had 13 shots on target, two cleared off the line and he was Argentina and just got lucky on 2 runs and did the old cut back, think he had 3 shots on target the whole game.

I hate the old cut back trick.

I will hold out for Fifa 11, but I suspect much wont improve with other online randoms.

I really hope they fix it in FIFA 11 as it's one of my main bug bears with the game along with cut backs & keeper chips. I even had one guy quit on me when I won 1-0!

The thing is though cut backs are a part of the game, heck I use them some times, but they just leave the keeper with no hope, the top keepers should be able to at least try and do something to save it and not just stand there. Keeper AI really is flawed in Fifa 10.

My nephew has 200 online wins and no achievement for winning 100 ranked matches yet.. totally put me off going for that achievement. Quitters werent punished in 09 and its the same in 10 unfortunately....

Cant you do that custom ranked match where you chose the dnf% under 5% - would that help find people who stick around despite loosing?

if i were them i'd just implement a system (ala CoD) where if you quit it counts as a loss in your statistics (and therefore in a 1v1 game like FIFA a win for your opponent), until they do that it will continue.

Better system would be susspend them tbh as just adding a loss to their records wont change anything, IF they quit ban them for playing Fifa online for like a week so eventually they wont do it as they then cant play.

I was going for the 100 win achievement on Xbox Live, suffered through 100 wins, where probably 1 in every 2 people used to quit when I was about to win but realised at the time that a quitter would give me an automatic 3-0 win anyway. Much to my horror after gaining 100 wins, I learned that they have to be 100 wins where the opponent doesn't quit. Haven't played it since.

I don't see how they could ever implement anything that really stops people from doing it. It's unfortunately a personality in human nature to quit when they're losing. The amount of times I've been 2-0 down and won is why I never quit

The EA servers are run separately from xbox live and PSN aren't they? To cater for connection problems, I would introduce a 24 hour ban from the EA servers for anyone who quits 5 times and every 5 times.

As above. If your opponent quits after the 6th minute of the game you are given a 3-0 automatic win added to your statistics. If you are already winning by more than 3 goals so for example 4-0 and he quits after the 6th minute then you get 4-0 added to your statistics.

Better system would be susspend them tbh as just adding a loss to their records wont change anything, IF they quit ban them for playing Fifa online for like a week so eventually they wont do it as they then cant play.

Thats a stupid idea as what happens if you lost the connection and dropped out genuinely? Sorry you cant play for a week.

A loss is a fair punishment in my eyes. I only play my mates as I know they arent going to leave.
